Winnie Woodpecker She is the girlfriend of Woody, the fictional character-singer and the tetartagonist of the Woody Woodpecker series.
Story[]
Walter Lantz[]
Winnie first appeared in a Walter Lantz short, Real Gone Woody. In that short, Winnie had a date with Woody but Buzz Buzzard stopped Woody because he wanted to go on a date with Winnie. She decides to take them both on a date, which causes a fight between the two birds. At the end, she rejects both of them and runs off with a singer bird.
She also appeared in International Woodpecker as the caveman woodpecker's girlfriend and as Fifi from Paris.
The New Woody Woodpecker Show years[]
Winnie later appeared in The New Woody Woodpecker Show among with Woody, Chilly Lilly, Chilly Willy, Splinter and Knothead, Wally Walrus, Ms. Meany and Buzz Buzzard. Winnie Woodpecker appeared in her own segment (like Woody, Chilly Willy and Splinter & Knothead). Her design was also revised. Unlike the original Walter Lantz series, she is Woody's best friend instead of his girlfriend. In "Spy-Guy", Winnie saves Woody from being robbed of a top-secret suitcase by Buzz Buzzard. In "Winnie's New Car", Winnie cracks Buzz Buzzard's auto theft ring and helps the judge see right through the evil buzzard's lies.
Appearance[]
Winnie’s appearance in the classics is a lot like Woody, except she is bare-handed and has a ponytail and dress. White gloves were later added to her design in various art cels. In the 1999 version, her ponytail is gone, and she still wears gloves, but now has her hair forward (resembling 1960s Woody Woodpecker) and only wears a red or orange mini skirt, making her topless and barefoot (however, her Universal Studios Hollywood appearance has her wearing a pink dress with pink slippers).
